Free 3 night Stay @ our Country Bed and Breakfast Contest

By DM

Talking with a friend/neighbor this morning I found out she is one of the  ”lurker”s to  my blogs:

http://hearttoheart.wordpress.com/

http://ialsoliveonafarm.wordpress.com/

LURKER:  One who lurks;  a visitor to a newsgroup, chatroom or blog, who only reads other people’s posts.  Never posting his or her own, thus remaining anonymous.

On a given day, I will get from 20 to 50 “hits” on the site,  and once in a while   get  a comment.  Anyway,  I would  love to hear from a few more of you “lurkers”, as well as those  of you that do post comments), so I’m creating this simple contest to see if you’ll consider changing your sneeky ways.  :-)

 Here’s how it will work:

1.  Post a comment on this blog with your e-mail address.  (before it appears on the webpage, I first have to OK it, so I will delete your e-mail address before I post it.

2.  If you are one of the first 10 people to post a comment, you automatically win a one night stay @ our Bed and breakfast. (You can stay longer, but the first night will be on us)   (We are located in Iowa).  Out of everyone that posts, I will draw (1) name, that person will win a 3 night all expenses paid stay @ our B and B.  By that I mean, you get to stay for 3 nights, our treat, breakfast included. (Again, you can stay longer, but the first 3 nights are on us)   If you  want to increase your chances of winning, write a short essay telling me why you think you deserve to win…(that will double your odds of winning)

Here are some additional photo’s of our home/ Bed and Breakfast:

This photo is of our (2) 100-120yr old barns from the apple orchard

This is the view as you drive into our driveway

I will run this contest for a week, starting today and ending Saturday the 8th of September.   If you really want to get a sense of what it’s like around here, visit the “I also live on a farm blog link” at the top of this page.  DM

Hi DM, I’m not a lurker, as you know, but thought I’d leave a comment anyway. I don’t know that I’d be able to use your freebies (air fare isn’t exactly cheap) but who knows right. God bless, my friend! Your sister in Christ- Shalene

Ah yes, I know who you are and where you live! You attended a little introductory thing I did on genealogy at the old Library a few years back. We should talk sometime, I think I can give you lots of things to dig into! Steve

Looks like a great B & B. I missed the comp, but would have to wait until I was in Iowa next anyway. Next time I am up there, I will definitely drop in and try to stay a few days. The kids would love the grounds.

I loved visiting your site. You have some great things you’ve written. I have to say you’ve got a way of titling your blogs that keeps a guy reading. Thanks for keeping the internet fun and clean.

And for kicks a short essay:
How many roads must a man walk down?
Depends on the longing in his heart and if his journey is worth the destination. History would lead one to believe that life is worth the journey; and when you’ve come to know the truth of life, that we are returning to our creator who loves us more than we can imagine; you find that life is a wild crisscrossing of roads as we make our way home. My road is narrow and there is but one.

Awwww, man, Howzit I just saw this?

How about if I pay for the B&B and you pay travel expenses? :)

  12. mssc54 Says:

Oh, BTW does the B&B include a guided deer hunt??

I have a carpet care restoration company. We can just trade it off. lol

  13. DM Says:

Mssc54…we have LOTS of deer and you are officially invited to come out and harvest as many as your little heart desires..(don’t let Kristina the home engineer catch wind of this..she would not like the idea of you plunking bambi’s mama, know what I mean)….I on the other hand have no problem eating bambi’s papa…the darn things love apples and they have cost me lots of $ w/our apple orchard.
